The pyrrolizidine alkaloids cynaustine, cynaustraline, echinatine and heliosupine were isolated from from Cynoglossum montanum (Boraginaceae) and their structures were analysed by chromatographic and spectroscopic methods. The total alkaloid content is 0.87%. Keywords :
