Activated charcoal: an effective antidote used in intoxications
Activated charcoal is an effective antidote with its great adsorptive capacity and it is widely used in oral intoxications in order to reduce or to prevent the absorption of toxic substances in the gastrointestinal tract. In this research article, the properties and the antidotal use of activated charcoal, which its presence is recommended in the first aid kits in our country, are explained.
