A short time after the foundation of Marmara University Faculty of Pharmacy, during the turn of Prof. Dr. Cemil Şenvar as the Faculty Dean it was decided to publish a faculty journal; thereafter, an editorial board was set and Prof. Dr Emre Dölen was assigned as the Editor. The name of the journal was determined to be “Marmara Üniversitesi Eczacılık Dergisi (Journal of Pharmacy of University of Marmara)”, while the language of publication was decided to be both Turkish and English and the publication frequency was set as two times per year. After the preliminary studies, the journal was introduced to the biomedical literature.

The abstract book of the “First International Meeting on Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences” which was organized by the Marmara University Faculty of Pharmacy at 4–7 September 1994 was published as the supplement to the 10th volume. The two issues of the 11th volume (1995) were published together as a special edition and some of the abstracts presented during the congress were published there. The publication of the journal was interrupted after the second issue of the 13th volume (1997). Thus, the journal was published between 1985 – 1997 as a peer-reviewed scientific journal of a total of 26 issues in 13 volumes. The journal was indexed by the “Chemical Abstracts” and TÜBİTAK.

Today, our journal is restarting its publication life as an on-line journal beginning from the 14th volume. Keywords :
