Exercise induced asthma and athletes counseling
Exercise induced asthma is a condition appears after long exercise. That exact cause is unknown, but the loss of heat and/or water from the lung during exercise may act as a causing factor. Spirometric tests are commonly used for diagnosing of the condition. Medications used for treatment of the athletes must be safe, not acts as doping agent and proved by International Olympic Committee. Clinical pharmacists as a therapy consultant can play an important role in selecting the drugs, education and monitoring of athletes with asthma and increase the performance of athletes.
