Differential spectrophotometry was applied to pseudo-first- order hydrolysis of methyl salicylate. Thus, the values of the measured quantity at t = ∞ and t = 0 were eliminated in calculation of the rate coefficient. Results obtained by this method were compared statistically with those obtained from the classical method. Keywords :
